Was reading this short blurb about LinkedIn acquiring Lynda.com and it’s brilliant. It makes so much sense to help people find the skills they need to do the jobs they want and employers need to fill.
I was talking to a friend the other day about how LinkedIn knows when you’re looking for a new gig based on your profile and networking activity increasing. This is even better… get to the candidate when they’re thinking about upping their skills.
I also think about Kevin Reeth talking about signals that matter. In the case of Outright it wasn’t networking… it was actual money changing hands. What better signal is there?
Well, if LinkedIn could mine the skills tests and do what oDesk does ++ then that can be crazy powerful.
