January hiking in Arizona with pics

Hiking in Scottsdale, AZ (Jan 2015)

January turned out to be a good hiking month with a couple excursions with Toni and one with Mendel. Here are some pics!

The first hike was at Squaw Peak with Toni on MLK day (1/19). For a reintroduction to activity… wow. It was a good realization that Toni’s idea of hiking and mine might be a bit different. Her idea – All rock, thighs burning, scramble over rocks at the top… she ran a large part of it. My idea – gentle sloping trails and tons of tree coverage.

The second hike was at Sunrise Trailhead with Mendel. We met at first light and had a great walk and talk. The incline was pretty rough at the start but it was great exercise.

The third hike was at the 40th St Trailhead with Toni. Just an awesome time getting some fresh air and talking with Toni. I was coming off a Thursday / Friday working from home with this stupid cold / flu thing that’s going around and totally over did it but it was a great Sunday morning hike.
